Highpoint Community School is a Grade 3 to 8 school located in the village of Dundalk, Ontario. The school is a converted high school built in 1953. Major renovations were undertaken during the 1989 school year. Through the mid 1990s portable classrooms were added to address the needs resulting from increased enrolment. In 2001 a new six-room addition was added to the school to address the ever growing needs of the community.
The school currently serves approximately 500 students. Special education programs have a strong emphasis on inclusion. A large percentage of our families come from homes where the first language is not English.
School priorities focus on school community well-being, quality instruction, parent engagement and the responsible stewardship of resources. The staff and school community value and support a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities including performing arts, and competitive sports teams.
